Rose, April should be a lovely time with fewer tourists. I highly recommend visiting the Acropolis museum for context and then going up to the Acropolis (the museum is just across the street from the Acropolis park). That will fill half of a day. Then visit the ancient Agora the next day. It is worth taking the metro to Piraeus (30 minutes) to walk along the harbor and have lunch. Enjoy!
